Our Story

Where Norwell came from

Norwell was established in Central, Hong Kong by a group of senior advisors who had observed a recurring frustration among their peers: consulting engagements were often too broad, too long, and too light on output. The advice was thoughtful, but the deliverables were thin.

The founding team made a deliberate choice to work differently. Every engagement at Norwell has a fixed scope, a defined timeline, and a structured output — a report, a roadmap, or a framework that the client's team can actually use. We do not extend engagements or add advisory retainers unless a client specifically asks for them.

Our work centres on three areas where leadership teams in Hong Kong consistently face complex questions: the health of their organisation, readiness for franchising, and the design of compensation frameworks. Each of these areas benefits from a structured external perspective — and that is what we provide.

We are based at Alexandra House on Chater Road, Central, and work primarily with businesses operating in or through Hong Kong.

Consulting in Hong Kong operates in a context where leadership teams are often pressed for time and sceptical of advice that does not translate into action. Norwell was built with that reality in mind. We keep our engagement scope narrow, our outputs concrete, and our communication direct.

We work across sectors — manufacturing, financial services, retail, hospitality, and professional services — but do not claim expertise across all of them. When a brief falls outside our core competencies, we say so. We would rather recommend a more suitable firm than deliver something that does not serve the client well.

The three areas we have focused on — organisational health, franchise viability, and compensation design — are areas where structured external input consistently adds value. These are not topics where generalist advice is useful. They require methodical assessment, relevant benchmarks, and clear written outputs. That is what Norwell provides.
